Dr. Joseph DelVecchio, DVM
A Warwick, Rhode Island native who has always loved animals, Dr. Joseph V. DelVecchio originally found himself on a very different career path. A graduate of Syracuse University, Dr. DelVecchio received a Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree in Illustration before attending the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine. Completing his medical studies in 2006, he earned his Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and returned to New England to work as a General Practitioner here at Randolph Animal Hospital. His professional interest in emergency medicine is a great asset to our hospital.
When not caring for others’ pets, Dr. DelVecchio tends to his own varied animal family. While one would not be surprised to meet Birdie, his mixed breed dog, or Lilly and Perry, his two cats, Clarece may raise a few eyebrows - She’s an Amazon Tree Boa Constrictor! Dr. DelVecchio also keeps a unique animal-related hobby as a Falconer. Falconry is the centuries old art of flying trained birds of prey to hunt wild quarry.
While Dr. DelVecchio certainly spends much of his time with animals, he also enjoys reading and cooking. He is married to Lynn, and together they have two daughters, Mia and Chelsea.
